Willie Murray, also known as the King of Car Repairs, passed away on June 1, 2024, in Turner, Arkansas. Born on August 14, 1960, Willie was the beloved child of Central Allen and Freddie Murray. Also preceeded Willie (Cookie) in death four sisters; Gloria Williams, Vera Williams, Diane Murray and Essie Henderson and one brother Lee (Lil Joe) Murray. Known for his charming personality and witty humor, Willie leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by all.
Willie is survived by his nine children - Raymond Holden, Trevor Holden, Gillette Jackson, Kanesha Jackson, Kadedra Jackson, Iesha Murray, LaQuesha Cartwright, Shakeia Murray, and Deann Murray. Although known for his love of cars, Willie's biggest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
After studying at Holly Grove High School, Willie pursued a career as a Farmer/Mechanic. He put his heart and soul into his work, receiving the title of the "Car Whisperer" among his colleagues. He retired in 6, much to the disappointment of his loyal customers who will miss his expert skills.
While Willie may have left us, his spirit lives on through the many memories he created. Whether he was cracking jokes or fixing up cars, Willie brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Rest in peace, King of Car Repairs - you will be deeply missed.
