Willie Free, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 24, 2024 in Savannah, Georgia. He was born on November 27, 1942 to John James McHugh Jr and Lois Myrtle Wells. Willie married Jane McHugh in 1965 and they had three children together: Tonya McHugh, Trecinder Wiley (spouse Joseph Wiley), and Terrance McHugh (spouse Cindy McHugh).
Willie was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and went on to further his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology. After completing his studies, Willie joined the United States Air Force where he worked diligently until his retirement.
Outside of his professional life, Willie had a passion for fishing and loved nothing more than relaxing by the water with a fishing pole in hand. He was known for his easy-going nature and his ability to make everyone around him feel welcomed and loved.
Willie will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. May he rest in peace.
