Willis Ray WolfMr. Willis Ray Wolf, age 83, of Hurley, Mo., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, in the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville, Mo. He was born on September 24, 1933, in Billings, Mo., the son of Denver and Lula (Merritt) Wolf. He graduated from the Hurley High School, class of 1951.Willis was united in marriage to Mary Etta Langley on June 2, 1951, and just recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. They had lived in Illinois for five years before moving back to Springfield, Mo.; then they moved to Northview, Mo.; then built a home in Strafford, Mo. and lived there for four years; and in 1982, they built a home on the family farm and stayed there until moving back to Hurley.He served as a Deacon and Trustee at the Hurley Baptist Church.Willis loved outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and logged thousands of miles canoeing. He also enjoyed spending time with his three bird dogs, Susie, Ruff, and Ready, and Sam, his red Doberman pincher.He was preceded in death by four siblings, Curtis, Kenneth and James Wolf, and Hazel Bunch.Willis is survived by his wife, Mary; four children and their spouses, Stan and Myrna Wolf, Miles and Gail Wolf, Brian and Edie Wolf, and Angele (Wolf) and Jeff Brann; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Byron Wolf and wife Jessie Marie; a sister, Doris Craig; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.A visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Hurley Baptist Church, 5995 State Highway A, Hurley, MO 65675, under the care of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, Mo.
