Mrs. Wilma Jean Nash Hudson passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017. She was born on May 23, 1928 in El Paso, Texas to the late Isaiah Nash and Rosa Shanklin. She attended and graduated from Douglass School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. Upon returning to El Paso from the state of Georgia where she had taught Spanish, she met and married Earnee Hudson on March 16, 1951 and shared almost 32 years of marriage until his passing in 1983. Wilma also attended Hotel Dieu and became a medical technologist which lead to a position at William Beaumont Army Hospital for 25 years. She was also promoted to Supervisor of the Hematology Dept. Those left behind to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are sisters, Ruth King and Rosalea Nash and daughters, Leslie Hudson, Eugenia Hudson Jones, and Julie Hudson. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Shannon Briscoe (Jarmarque) and Ryan Jones, MD, great-grandchildren James, Aaron and Rylee as well as other relatives and friends. The public viewing will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East located at 10950 Pellicano Dr. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17 at 12:30 p.m. at St. James -Myrtle United Methodist Church at 1128 Lomaland Dr. and Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
