GARTNER Winfield Allen Gartner passed away on October 23, 2016. He was born on August 15 1935, Ft. Worth, Tx. graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in business having already obtained his CPA. In 1960, he earned his law degree from the University of Virginia. He then moved to Washington DC working for the Internal Revenue Service under Mortimer Kaplan.He then transferred to atlanta with the IRS. Leaving there he joined the law firm of Culverhouse, Tomlinson, and Mills as a tax attorney in Jacksonville, FL. He went on to have a successful career with own law firm and as a real estate developer. First Gartner and Phillips and then Gartner, Brock, and Simon. His greatest love was his family especially his wife Zelda Scottie. He is survived three children Sharon, Kevin and Bruce and five grandchildren Austin, Hailey, Justin, Abigale, and Madeline. In lieu of flowers a donation could be made to river garden or the museum of Contemporary art Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207 at 11:00 AM on 10/27/2016.
