Yanexis Lara was taken from us too soon in a tragic accident. She was born in Hendersonville where she spent most of her time with her extended family. She was a graduate of North Henderson where she graduated with the top 5% and dedicated her career to AFJROTC. She was a junior at Appalachian State University where she was majoring in Physics. She was passionate about astronomy and preformed research with her favorite professor. While in Boone, she fell in love with her two dogs, Boo and Smokey.

Yanexis is the daughter of Brenda Garcia and Ricardo Lara.

Yanexis is the sister of Juan, Yaritza, Yaneli, and Jose Zazueta-Garcia and Sinai and Jaasiel Jaimez.

Yanexis the grand-daughter of Santiago and Maria Garcia and Ricardo and Maria Lara.

Yanexis has no next of kin.
