Yolanda Helen (Lentz) Mareck, 93St. Cloudformerly of Sauk CentreApr. 8, 1924 - May 5, 2017Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Yolanda Helen Mareck, 93, of St. Cloud and formerly of Sauk Centre will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Yolanda passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Yolanda was born on April 8, 1924 in rural Sauk Centre to John and Anna Lentz. She was united in marriage to Harold J. Mareck of Elrosa on June 13, 1946. Together they farmed for 37 years near Padua; where she was a member of the Christian Mothers Group and a religious education instructor. She and Harold then retired to Avon, and later, St. Cloud. Yolanda loved being a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She was happiest when sharing her love of music, books, baking, birds, flowers, and anything else having to do with nature.She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they appreciated her great love, kindness, gentle wisdom, fresh-baked cookies and cinnamon rolls. Yolanda is survived by her ten children, Maureen Scaglia (Bill Breeggemann) of Richfield; John, Mary Kay and Jane all of St. Cloud; Kathy Faith of Baltic, SD; Ken (Lynn Moore) of Portland, OR; Teresa of Salt Lake City, UT; Ann of Minneapolis; Sylvia Nelson (Mark) of Plymouth; Karen of St. Paul; sister, Jeanette Deganaar, and brother, Ralph Lentz.She was the proud grandmother of John and Christine Scaglia; Jilena, Stephan and David Faith; Angela, Jason and Nathan Kuefler; Laura and Zachary Nelson; and 11 great grandchildren.Yolanda was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; brother, Arnold; sisters, Dolores, Valeria and Catherine; son-in-law, Tom Scaglia; and grandson, Jason Kuefler.Yolanda's family would like to thank the staff on Memory Lane at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home for the wonderful care Mom received during her stay. We also want to thank the CentraCare Hospice staff for their support during these last few days.Rest in Peace, Mom
