Mr. Zebedee Briggs (Zeb or Zeze), beloved father, and friend, passed away on May 30, 2024, in New York, New York, United States. He was born on November 1, 1955, to Eddie Briggs and Pearly Inez Mcneal Carter. He was the baby of seven children. His brother John Briggs preceded him in 2003. His five remaining sisters are Helen Watts (Selma AL), Ethel Lane ( Montgomery, AL), Johnny Mae Lewis ( Selma AL), Mary Gosha (Selma AL), Jurline Brown ( baby sister/ Birmingham AL) and a host of nieces and nephews; and long term friend Lisa McIver. He also has an extended family of sisters and brothers; Gail Slaughter , Regina Slaughter, Dwayne Slaughter, Warren Slaughter, Wanda Slaughter, and Rodney Slaughter all of New York.

Zebedee is survived by his two adoring children, Zeniah Diane McIver and Malik Isaiah McIver. He was also a father to Aaron Slaughter, Jovonne Slaughter, and Joseph Marshel. He was a devoted father who always put his family first and cherished every moment spent with his children.

Zebedee attended Selma High in Selma, AL, where he developed a love for learning. He also had artistic talent such as drawing painting and playing the guitar. In his free time, Zebedee could often be found taking long walks, appreciating the beauty of nature.

Zebedee's kind heart and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
