It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Zita Barrow, a loving mother, loyal wife, caring sister, aunt, and daughter to Alex and Francis Barrow. Born on December 23, 1934, in Belize City, Zita attended Holy Redeemer and St. Mary’s schools. She met her husband, Gilroy Pipersburgh, and they were married in Belize before immigrating to the U.S. to join many of her family members. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she felt at home in the Chicago area and enjoyed watching Spanish TV and westerns. Always on the lookout for a jackpot, she loved games and chatting with her friends.
Zita worked at Goldlocks Department Store in downtown Chicago and later became a dedicated housewife to raise her two sons, Cortez and Darius. She was loving, outgoing, and friendly, and everyone loved her. She brought joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew her during her time on Earth. Her infectious smile and playful spirit will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Zita’s impact will be everlasting.
May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our memories.
