Yang Zong Doua Yang, long time resident of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on January 16, 2017 at the age of 76. Zong is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bee Yang; along with six children, Jay, Ger, Kao, Dee, Kong, Jeannette, and their spouses; 23 grandchildren; one grand-son-in-law; and three brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, and four children. Zong was born on January 2, 1941 in Laos, to parents Pa Xiong Yang and Xia Vang. He served in the Special Guerrilla Unit for the CIA during the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1975. In 1978 he immigrated to the United States bringing only his wife, their children, and minimal belongings. Zong was a great family man and a devoted husband and father who is deeply loved by many. A memorial service is scheduled for February 17 through the 19 in Minneapolis, MN at Glenwood Funeral Home, 1312 Glenwood Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55405.
