Mrs. Zulaikha M. Clarke, better known as Lucy, from Fort White, passed away quietly from this life on January 28, 2014. She was born on August 4,1930. Ma, as we called her, was a native of Trinidad and moved to New York in 1969. She was a life long Nurse's Aide. In 1978 she relocated to Fort Lauderdale where she truly enjoyed her long life hobby of gardening. She wasalso a very talented Seamstress, and shared her talent in sewing, knitting and crocheting. As a single parent of twelve children she was known her fortitude, her courage and determination. She relocated to Fort White in 1998. She loved the peace and quiet with her goats, ducks, chicken and her beloved dog Rusty. Ma's life was greatly enhanced by the loving care and devotion of her three daughters, Nina, Zahida and Nafisa, and one son, Amjad. Ma would be greatly missed as our lives have been shaped by our mother; loss is our legacy, insight is our gift, memories be our guide. Ma, is survived by her only sister, Mary Jurawan of Trinidad, and her twelve children, with numerous grand-children and several great grand children, including her dear neighbors Jane and Mikey, and caring nurse, Beverly. Funeral arrangements were held by Dees-Parrish Family Funeral home in Lake City.
