Arthur Walter Kling, age 70, of Oscoda passed away on Dec. 7, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 7, 1946 in Jersey City, N.J. to the late Chester and Anna Kling. Arthur joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and served 23 years, which included tours of duty in Vietnam as an aircrew member dispersing Agent Orange, before retiring in 1987. He ultimately received 100 percent disability as a result of associated illness from his Agent Orange exposure. Following his Air Force career, Arthur worked for TWA and Kalitta Air as an A&P mechanic with inspection authorization. He thoroughly enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and rebuilding just about anything with an engine, including restoration of older cars. But, most of all, Arthur cherished his wife, Nola, whom he married on Sept. 4, 1972. He not only was a deeply devoted and loving husband, but he also provided Nola with selfless in-home healthcare during the final two years of her life. Arthur is survived by his sons, Greg (Karola) Kling of Washington State and Duane Kling of California; brother, Charlie (Juanita) Kling of Florida; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Kling. Arthur's family plans a private memorial service to celebrate his life.
