Barbara Ann AhearnSt. ClairBarbara Ann Ahearn, 80, of St. Clair, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2017. She was born on August 24, 1936, in Port Huron and was a lifelong resident.Barbara was a graduate of Central Michigan College and met her husband, Gale Ahearn, while there. They were married on December 19, 1959 in Port Huron.Barbara is survived by her loving family; husband, Gale Ahearn; sons: Daniel (Chris) Ahearn and James (Karen) Ahearn; grandchildren: Ryan and Katlynn Ahearn; sister, Betty Fisken; brother-in-law, James (Pocha) Ahearn; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Vera Peppler and her brother, Robert Peppler.Barbara's greatest passion was spending time with her family; especially her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, quilting and reading; as well as having lunch with friends. Barbara's first job after college was as a librarian in Springfield, Michigan. She was also a former employee of Port Huron Schools.Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Allied Veteran's Cemetery Columbarium. Barbara will be inurned.
