Barbara D. Eckert, 89, of Iron Mountain, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 peacefully in her sleep.
Barbara was born on April 28, 1934, in Petoskey, MI, daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Curtiss) Erfourth. Barbara was raised in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High. She worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant in Home Healthcare for many years. Barbara had been a resident of Iron Mountain since 2011. She was a member of Redemption Hill Church in Kingsford and loved to do needlework and cross stitch.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Robert Eckert on August 8, 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne (Jay) Matthews of Breitung Twp.; her daughter-in-law, Annette Eckert of Kenosha, WI; brother, Lyle (Yvonne) Erfourth of North Port, FL; grandsons, Jason (Courtney Kramer) Matthews of Indianapolis, Justin (Courtney) Matthews of Williston, VT and Sean Eckert of Kenosha, WI; nephews, Kenneth Erfourth and Timothy (Stacey) Erfourth; and her very special friends, Shirley Person, Marion Erlandson and Jocelyne Sade.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors at Michigan Wisconsin Family Practice, the staff of UPCAP, Dickinson Home Health, Family Ties and Almost Family for the wonderful care they provided for Barbara.
Service Details - Barbara's family has chosen to honor her in memory and grace of God, and has opted not to hold a service at this time.
