A Life Well Lived and Full of Love

Once upon a time in 1938, our sweet Bettie Lou soared to Earth from heaven. During her 85 years on the Earth she had 3 children, 8 grand children, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She loved God and her family until she returned back to heaven. Bettie Lou Sellers (Keehn), of Hersey, Michigan, passed away on April 16, 2023 from complications of COPD.

Bettie was born on March 11, 1938 to her parents, Beatrice Baker and Joyce Sellers. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, all but one of her siblings, and her grandson Tobiah Leath (1997) of Cloraine Keehn (Leath). Bettie was married to Richard Keehn on August 8, 1953. Bettie worked very hard as a homemaker and waitress during her married years. Bettie also spent many years doing factory work, housekeeping, newspaper delivery, and adult foster care. She retired in her 70's and led a relaxing life supporting family members and pouring into her children and grandchildren. Her life and spirit touched many and she will be forever remembered. Bettie was well known for her kindness and generosity. She would seek to bless those in need. She was also known for her long-suffering and patient spirit toward others. She would look for the best in them and encourage and build them up. Her forgiveness and peacemaking skills were evident in all her relationships.

Bettie was a rock in the family and created an atmosphere of love in her home. She welcomed others and would always take time to speak blessings over them. Bettie was also a gift giver and made it a point to buy or create things for her loved ones over the years. She spent a significant amount of time crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also made many things for the home for others such as doilies and kitchen towels. She would donate and give her creations to those in need. Her creations will forever be treasured by her loved ones. She also left her kisses on everyone's hearts that can never be wiped off. An imprint of her genuine humility and compassion for others. Through all of Bettie's trials and tribulations, she never stopped smiling. Her contagious smile and laughter would brighten up any room and her sparkling blue eyes always shined with love. Her hugs and kisses, laughter, and voice will be deeply missed.

Bettie gave her life to the Lord Jesus and was filled with His Spirit on December 31, 1978. Bettie's love for the Lord and dedication to Him was very sincere and strong. She would make a point to encourage others to trust and follow after Him. Her heart was full of joy in knowing Christ and her freedom that came from Him. She faithfully served the Lord in faith and deed and led many of her family members to love Him more deeply. Anyone who knew Bettie, knew what an incredible joy and blessing she was to be around. She will be sorely missed, but we find hope in the fact that she is with her Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. She is exactly where she wanted to be, in His ever loving arms.
