We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Betty Loves, who passed away on August 26, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. Born on February 16, 1941, to Richard "Camen" Loves and Catherine "Tina" Harmen, Betty brought laughter and joy to all who knew her.

In 1962, Betty married the love of her life, Rigmeon Gutherie, and together they raised four wonderful children: Tasha Cobbs Loves (spouse Augustus Gutherie), Kadyen Loves (spouse Rashad Haughton), Tiana Loves, and Janet Cobbs Loves. Betty adored her ten grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.

Betty attended Detroit High School, graduating in 1958, before continuing her studies at Winthrop University, where she graduated in 1960. She had a passion for basketball and dedicated her time to helping in the local community basketball organization.

Aside from sports, Betty enjoyed singing and would often be found belting out tunes around the house. Her upbeat personality and infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Betty passed away from natural causes, specifically dementia, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, humor, and unwavering love for her family.
