Betty Jane Anderson, age 82, of Menominee passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis. She was born on March 5, 1929, to the late Harry and Bertha Schauer Morris.She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 57 years, Francis "Andy" Anderson; two sons, Larry (Sharis) Pike of Lake Mary, Fla., and Rob (Julie) Anderson of Turner; two daughters, Cindy (Joel) Hanner of Marinette and Deb (Rod) Weaver of Pelzer, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie, Kimberly and Daniel Pike, Beverly (Kevin) Burrell, Jessica Hanner, Jackie (Mike) Stoeckigt, Josie (Mitch) Frydrych, Ali and A.J. Weaver, Amanda and Andrea Rahkola and Michael Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Mason and Addison Stoeckigt, Benjamin and Katelyn Burrell; two brothers, Melvin (Jane) Morris and Ronald (Pam) Morris; and her stepsister, Linda (Will) Egner. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.Betty enjoyed sewing, cake decorating and bowling in her earlier years. As a faithful military wife, Betty was active in the Protestant Women of the Chapel on several United States Army bases. Prior to moving to Menominee, she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Oscoda, where she served on the church council and many committees. She was also a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Marinette. She expressed continued interest in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Even as her health deteriorated, Betty demonstrated love, strength and determination to her family.Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 31, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Marinette. The Rev. Kenneth Michaelis officiated. The family received friends on Saturday, July 30, at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home in Marinette.
