Charles Murray ErbeFort GratiotCharles Murray Erbe, age 71, a resident of Fort Gratiot passed away peacefully at this home on Thursday, January 26, 2017.He was born on November 26, 1945 in Croswell a son of the late Ernest and Irene (Cudney) Erbe.Murray proudly served his country in the
U.S. Navy. He retired from Detroit Edison where he worked as a lineman for many years, and was a member of the I.B.E.W. #17. He was longtime member of the Elks #343, he was also a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and the Eagles Murray was an avid deer hunter and sportsman. He enjoyed golfing and was proud of shooting a hole in one.He is survived by his significant other and longtime love, Janis Baumgarten of Fort Gratiot; 3 daughters Dayna (Joseph) Cristofori of Waterford, Danielle (Edward) Quain of Marysville and Darylyn (Kirk) Hice of Georgia; 3 step sons Robert (Jennifer) Baumgarten, Rick (Danielle) Baumgarten and Ryan (Janice) Baumgarten; 7 grandchildren Sean, Bailey and Jacob Cristofori, Keegan and Kennedy Quain, Sydney and Suttan Hice. A brother Leon Erbe of Mio and a sister Carol Ann Sheridan-Ganley of Croswell. Many beloved nieces and nephews to whom he was very close.He was preceded in death by a sister Doris Hawk.Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home with visiting from 10-11. Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock of Ave Maria Parish-St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington will officiate. Interment will follow in the Croswell Cemetery with military honors provided by the Croswell American Legion.Memorials in memory of Murray may be made to the Port Huron
