Dallas Mae Duby, age 56, of Oscoda, former resident of Alpena, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Saginaw. She was born on Dec. 12, 1959 in Lincoln, Neb. Dallas was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Neb., was confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Farmington Hills and graduated from North Farmington Hills High School Class of 1978. Dallas was a master gardener for many years at Lakewood Shores, she enjoyed the outdoors, and the beauty of her work that surrounded her. She enjoyed playing pool, fishing, boating, camping and most especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Dallas was a past president of American Legion Auxiliary No. 274, 10th District Auxiliary finance officer, past secretary of the Oscoda Colts for 13 years and a cheerleading coach for Oscoda middle and high schools. She married Joseph Duby on April 11, 1981 at their home in Oscoda and together they shared 35 years of marriage. Dallas is survived by her husband, Joe, and their children, Tera (Clay) Albert of Oscoda, Erin Duby of Mikado, Kyle Duby of Oscoda and RD "Ryan" (Ashley) Duby of Greenville; her mother, JoAnn Lind of Farmington Hills; siblings, Douglas Lind of Farmington Hills and Dawn (Patrick) McKinney of Farmington; eight grandchildren, Megann, Courtney, Rhianna, Landin, Riley, Myera, Lavender, Lindsay and one great grandchild due in April; her mother-in-law, Pat Duby of Oscoda; sisters-in-law, Peggy (John) Gilbert and Penny (Brad) Mills, both of Oscoda; and many nieces and nephews. Dallas was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ralph Winn Duby; and her grandparents, William and Evelyn Brunner. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.) at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery in Oscoda. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home, Oscoda Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation or .
