David A. Hughes of Tawas City, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 57 years of age.He was born on Dec. 24, 1954 to Buryl and Irene (Lorenz) Hughes. Dave was a plumbing, heating and cooling specialist by profession. He was a loving husband and father and a doting grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends and he enjoyed his home, bowling and fishing.He will be dearly missed by his wife of 38 years, Brenda (Abbott); his children, Stephanie (Zachary) Whitely and Matthew Hughes; and grandchildren, Dylan and Brooklyn Whitely. He will also be deeply missed by his parents, Buryl and Irene Hughes; and brothers and sisters, Dennis (Janet) Hughes, Barb Hughes, Ken (Renee) Hughes, Joan (Bruce) Stroede, Donna (Joe) Dear, Patty Wilke, Tom (Mary Soley) Hughes and Sharon (Terry) Yates; and several nieces and nephews. His smile and friendly demeanor will be missed by all of his extended family and friends.Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 12 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 516 West Lincoln St., East Tawas. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tawas Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 416 Whittemore St. and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service.
