Stukenborg, George Joseph,55, of Earlysville, VA, passed away on July 21, 2017.George was born on October 11th, 1961 in Louisville. George graduated from St. Xavier High School, Louisville, and went on to receive his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Louisville and his Ph.D. from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, VA. George enjoyed a 20-year career as a Professor at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, Public Health Sciences. His greatest joys were being with family, going on camping trips, spending time outdoors, swimming, and following/attending U of L and UVA basketball games.George was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Stukenborg, and uncle, George H. Stukenborg.George is survived by his wife, Sheila Stukenborg; son, Carl Stukenborg; daughters, Taylor Stukenborg and Rachel Stukenborg; mother, Erna Krone; brothers, Andrew Stukenborg (Bridget) and Matthew Stukenborg; nieces, Sarah Stukenborg, Anna Kate Stukenborg, and Mary Claire Stukenborg; nephew, John Stukenborg; and aunt, Martha Stukenborg.A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlottesville, VA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 6-8 p.m., at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville.
