Glendora F. Clemens, age 89, of Rose City died on Friday, July 9, 2010. She was born on Jan. 8, 1921, in Hastings to the late Glenn and Dora Miller (nee Benedict). Glendora graduated from Hastings High School and later worked many years as a midwife and home care nurse. She was a member of Northwood Baptist Church in Rose City, former member of the Reno Baptist Church and the Hale Baptist Church, where she was an organist for over 30 years. Glendora also served as the church treasurer, Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was a member of the Hale Dorcus Ladies group, the Rose City Council, board member of Taft School and secretary for Farm Bureau. Glendora was very skilled and she enjoyed many hobbies, including cake decorating, ceramics, quilting, crocheting, sewing, making and painting porcelain dolls, oil painting, reading and writing poetry. Glendora is survived by three daughters and one son, Janet (Don) Lepley of Broken Arrow, Okla., Marilyn (Art) Luna of Flint, Alan (Rhonda) Clemens of Rose City and Eilene (Dean) Mayhew of Rose City; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by six brothers, Melbourne, Vernon, Nyle, Eldon, Maynard and Merwyn; two sisters, Marion and Thelma; and several nieces and nephews. Glendora was preceded in death by her husband, Albert B. "Farmer" Clemens in 1990; son, Ronald Clemens in 1997; five brothers; three sisters; and her great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 13, at 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.) at Hale Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert L. King officiating. Interment followed in Esmond-Evergreen Cemetery.
