Gloria Ann White of Tawas City, formerly of Richmond, passed away peacefully at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, age 69. Gloria was born on June 12, 1944 in Royal Oak to George and Caroline (Pickle) Schraffenberger. Gloria was a very active parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. She volunteered countless hours with the C.C.W. and the D.C.C.W. where she also served as the treasurer. Gloria also was very involved with the Yankee Air Force Museum where she served as both a bookkeeper and treasurer. Those who knew and loved her will always remember how she enjoyed cooking and baking, knitting and crocheting, painting and basket making. Gloria will be missed by all who knew her. Gloria is survived by her three children, son, Ed White of Tawas City, son, Michael White of Gauthier, Miss. and daughter, Trudy (David) Cole of Newberry; four grandchildren, Mike Jr., Amber, Mary and Jacob; 5 great grandchildren, Max, Emily Rose, Emma Rose, Serenity and Anna Joy; one brother, Benny (Mary) Schraffenberger of Prescott; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Francis White on Feb. 18, 1994; one sister, Violet Brown; and one brother, George Schraffenberger. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday evening. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas with Father Charles Donajkowski officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass. Interment will take place in the spring in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tawas City.
