Henry Frank Tyson, D.O.Coldwater Henry Frank Tyson, D.O., 87, of Coldwater passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017, after a lengthy illness at The Laurels of Coldwater. He was born on March 13, 1930, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Henry F. and Annabelle (Mattox) Tyson. Henry married Allison Lilly on December 29, 1990, and she survives. Henry graduated from high school and went on to serve his country in the United States Army until 1948. He then attended the University of Michigan, graduating in 1951. He then went on to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 1955 with his D.O. Degree. Dr. Tyson interned at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital and then moved to Climax, Michigan where he enjoyed a private practice until 1980. In 1980 he sold his practice, and moved to the Cleveland area, and worked for the Federal Aviation Admin. In 1983 he returned to Michigan and worked for the Department of Corrections until retiring in 1993. Dr. Tyson was a Charter Member of Lions Club in Birmingham, MI; member of the Rotary Club in Climax, MI; AOA, MOA, Masons Greenleaf Lodge #349 in Kinderhook, Elks Lodge #1023, of Coldwater and Lockwood Community Church.Besides his wife, Allison, Henry is survived by daughters, Barbara (Frank) Gray of Houston, Texas and Patricia Tyson-Chinicci of Newport Beach, California; step-sons William (Pam) Frankhauser and Richard (Lynda) Frankhauser; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Henry was preceded in death by his parents.A Memorial Service for Henry Frank Tyson will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Custer Cemetery at a later time. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday at 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Church.
