Indea Kay Moreno, 53, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009 of
breast cancer at her home in Yuma. She was born on February 26, 1956 in DeWitt, Iowa. Indea moved to Yuma in 1963, attending local schools and graduating from Yuma High School in 1974. She later studied the Trombone and Culinary Arts at Arizona Western College. Indea began her long career in the food service industry working in such establishments as Kachina Restaurant, YRMC, Tom Tates, and at the time of her death she was employed by the City of Yuma as the restaurant supervisor of Desert Hills Golf Course. Indea was of the Catholic faith. As her four daughters grew up she was both a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader. She always enjoyed being a part of her children's lives. Indea loved music and art. She and her husband were a musical duo called The North End Connection. The group performed around the Yuma area for many years. She often painted and sketched beautiful murals and crafts for her kids. Indea loved to read and spend time with friends, but in recent years she has taken great pride and joy in becoming a grandmother. She adored playing with her three grandchildren most of all. Indea is survived by her husband, Tony Moreno; daughters, Jessica (Brandon) Coz, Georgia (John) Canales, Alicia (Craig) Mulloy, and Victoria Moreno; grandchildren, Dylan Coz, Taylor Coz, and LaMyah Aubrey; sister, Becky (Dallas) Nibe; brothers, Dennis Lange and Arnold (Nanette) Meyer; aunt and uncle, Ronald and Helena Gage; aunt, Donna Corbett and nephews, Wesley and Michael Franks. Indea was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Georgia Meyer. A memorial service will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Reverend Jon Flint.
