Inger Liv Emde of Oscoda, formerly of Greenbush, passed away in Oscoda on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 at her home at age 80. Inger was born on Jan. 9, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. to Carl and Liv Fredricksen. She was a graduate of the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. Inger was a registered nurse and was employed in several hospital settings including Illinois, Texas, Maine, South Dakota, Michigan and Guam. She also worked in home health care taking care of others in need. She had many special interests and was involved in the Lutheran Nursing Alumni, Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Inger also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, casino trips, diet Pepsi and spending time with her family and friends. She loved raising her four children, living on the lake, swimming, going to church, singing in the choir and family barbecues. She is survived by her four children, Mark E. Emde of Brick, New Jersey, Karen Liv Dettmer of Oscoda, Bryan K. Emde (Marie Galluso) of Roseville and Brenda Lynn Card (Gary Griffith) of Glennie; one brother, Carl A. Fredricksen (Patsy) of California; seven grandchildren, Jason Card (Vanessa), Jonathan Dettmer (Whitney) Michael Dettmer, Adam Dettmer, Alycia Dettmer, Cory Emde and Brett Emde; one great grandchild, Maiya Dettmer; with baby Dettmer in waiting. Nieces and nephews surviving include Nancy, Jimmy, Cully and Kristin. Inger was preceded in death by her father, Carl Fredricksen; mother, Liv Fredricksen; husband, Eugene Tausz; and husband, Donald F. Emde. Cremation has taken place with a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family will be planting flowering trees, perennials and rose bushes for all to enjoy as she did in honor of the wonderful, amazing and beautiful woman she was.
