James Fernander, 87, of Freeport, Bahamas, passed on April 21, 2021. James was born on August 18, 1933. He was blessed to be surrounded by love ones during his transition. James also known as "Poppy," Is survived by his 8 children and 31 grandchildren. He was the staple of the Fernander/Bain family, that has expanded across the Bahamas and the United States.

James spent over 40 years as a chef, cooking for everyone was a passion for him. He then went on to own his own restaurant with his late wife of over 51 years, Katie Fernander. The two went on to have 8 beautiful children together.

James was a strong believer of Christ who lived his life and provided teachings according to his beliefs with anyone he encountered. He has, "lived a good life" as he would always say.

He is truly loved and will truly be missed.
