James "Wes" Creamer of Oscoda and formerly of Garden City died on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at his home at the age of 75. Wes was born on Sept. 12, 1935, in Parsons, Kansas, to James W. and Helen A. (nee Hammond) Creamer Sr. He proudly served our country in the United States Army for two years and then went to work for Ford Motor Company, where he was employed as a senior merchandiser. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 years of service. Among his many interests in life, Wes truly enjoyed golf, bowling and gardening. He married his wife, Lucia (nee Piekarz), in Royal Oak in 1975 and she survives him. Wes is also survived by his children, Steve (Patti) Creamer of Garden City, Terri (Neil) Smith of Plymouth, Christine (Mike) Smith of Houston, Texas, Mary (Gary) Lezotte of Trenton and John (Rochelle) McNamara of Crown Point, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Danielle (Paul), Amy (Dan), Matt, Tim, Becky, Sarah, Justin, Jacob, Katie and Megan; one brother, Gary (Toni) Creamer of Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister, Kathy (Dennis) Sheppard of Springfield, Mo. Wes was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Creamer. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda, with a scripture service prayed that evening at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held today (Wednesday), 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. His family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass. An on-line guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
