James "Jersey" DeVeau, age 49, of Hale passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. James was born on April 5, 1965 in Jersey City, N.J. to James and Vera DeVeau. He served his country in the United States Army. After his military service James earned a degree in automotive repair and worked as a mechanic for over 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Detroit Highwaymen Motorcycle Club. James will be remembered for his love of riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and forever will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Robin; two sons, Christopher (Kyra) Wells of Idaho and Michael Klick of New Jersey; daughter, Danielle DeVeau; his mother, Vera DeVeau of Hamburg, N.J.; brother, Barry (Theresa) DeVeau and sister, Donna (Bill) Thompson, both from New Jersey. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Geraldine Levers; brothers-in-law, Paul (Kathy) Smith of Hale and Richard (Sherry) Smith of California; four nieces, three nephews and three great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James DeVeau Sr.; and father-in-law, Leonard Levers.A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at Buresh Funeral Home Chapel, 121 S. Washington St, Hale. Fr. Boks will be officiating the service. The family will be receiving friends and family from noon until the time of the service. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service at Glenn Staley American Legion Post 422, 429 W. Main St., Hale. Donations can be made to the family.
