James William Scott James William Scott, of Charlotte, MI and formerly of East Lansing and Lansing, MI passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the age of 78.  James was born on January 10, 1938 in Hamtramck, MI the son of Anthony and Anna (Savikis) Szychulski.  He was a graduate of Pershing High School class of 1956 and went on to receive a bachelor degree as well as a master's degree from Wayne State University.  James worked as a teacher in Detroit before taking a job with the State of Michigan in the Vocational Rehabilitation Unit.  He was an avid sailor as well as a glider pilot and a member of the Lake Lansing Sailing Club.  James also enjoyed photography, travel, the arts, and was a skilled musician.  Preceding James in death was his son, Tim Scott.Surviving James are his son, Jeff (Frances Salazar) Scott; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Stanley (Carol) Szychuski, Laurence Szychuski and numerous friends and extended family members.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids chapel with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m.  For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.  For online condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com
