Jeanetta Jane Jackson (nee Smith), age 79, of East Tawas passed away peacefully under the loving care of her husband, children and hospice on Monday, June 11, 2012. She was born on May 29, 1933 in Lake City, Ark., the daughter of Oscar and Beulah (Crumby) Smith.Jay owned and operated the Dale Motel for 10 years and the Bay View Resort for eight years.She loved taking trips to the casino, playing bingo, cross stitching and spending time gardening. Jay took pride in making her house and home and loved spending time with her grandchildren.She married her best friend, Thomas, on May 20, 1961 in Detroit, and together they shared 51 years of marriage and raised six children. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom, and her loving children, Sandra and her husband, Frank, David, Thomas and his wife, Karen, Daniel and Robert and his wife, Lillian; her brother, Ronnie; and adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ricky, Ryan, Renee, Sarah, Megan, Alex, Christina, Tommy, Caroline, Amanda, Daniel, Alivia, Chase, Jonathan, Matthew, Nolan, Abigale and Charity Elizabeth; and many nieces and nephews.Jay was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael; and brother and sister, Robert and Juanita.A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Buresh Chapel in Tawas City with Brother Mike Whitman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
