John Norman Dargo, 84, formerly of South Branch, passed away Dec. 13, 2014 in Clermont, Fla.John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Dargo; his siblings, Art Dargo, Harry Dargo, Veronica Chesney, Dorothy Volges, Virginia Ressler and Eleanor Ceasarz; his first wife, Marilyn Dargo; his second wife, Marjorie Dargo; his daughter, Deborah Martin; his son-in-law, Richard Fox; and his grandson, Jared Ireland. He is survived by his children, John Paul Dargo, Suzanne Fox, Mary Bliss, Michael Dargo, Karen Dargo and Kim Ireland; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and many other special people he considered family.John was born on May 4, 1930 in Belleville. He was known to his nieces and nephews as "Uncle Jake or Junior." He served in the Army from 1951 through 1953. He drove trucks to support his family and upon retirement he moved to South Branch with his wife, Marjorie. They wintered in Orlando, Fla. After his second wife passed, he moved to Florida with his children, John Paul and Mary.John loved the great outdoors and all it had to offer, he enjoyed catching fish on Jose Lake, and always hosted deer camp. He was handy around the house and was a Euchre pro! John always had advice and great stories to share. He was a caring man who even raised a fawn that was abandoned after birth. He'd chuckle to the show "Everybody Loves Raymond" and fall asleep to "In the Heat of the Night."A memorial will be held on Saturday, June 27 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale, where he was a member, at 11 a.m. Following the memorial service family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life at 6881 Jose Lake Dr., South Branch.
