Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Mentor

It is with great sympathy we announce the passing of Joseph Herman Brinks Sr He was born July 4th, 1946 in Battle Creek to James and Mary (Deboer) Brinks. He had 3 siblings James (Jean)Brinks, Joyce Goethe, MaryAnn(Chuck) Taylor. On September 16th, 1967 he married the love of his life Darlene (Salvaggio)who survives together t hey had 2 sons Joseph Jr, and Travis (Ronda)Brinks. Joe or Big Joe as some called him at Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital where he retired after 32 years. He was the epitome of a family man. Always there for whoever needed a hand. Helping his sons with their cars, motorcycles, homes or whatever problems they had at the time . He was a very patient and passive man. Him and his wife Darlene would spend their winters down in Florida where they were volunteer camphosts for the State of Florida at Hog Island campground. He liked walking his dog Wallee every morning and In his spare time he liked to ride his goldwing he liked to golf, he liked to go to flea markets. He enjoyed his retirement he loved his family including all of his in-laws and his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. There will be a celebration of life on October 5th from 11 to 6 at the Alamo Township Hall.
