Judy Ann Battleshaw went home to our heavenly father on Sunday August 18th 2019. Born to Lee Owen and Dorothy Ann (Miles) VanDusen in July of 1941, Judy lived most of her life in the Jackson County Michigan area. Judy was a supportive, giving, and caring woman. She dedicated her life to supporting and raising her family, along with being involved with church, and caring for her mother in later years. She had a gift for story telling and her imagination and creativity was an inspiration. Her gift steamed from her love of reading. She loved reading mystery, romance, and Amish novels. She also held a passion for music of all types. She loved listening to music from Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, and her favorite, Elvis. Her passion for music carried over into her love for musical theater and movies as well. She loved musical movies such as The Wizard of Oz, Grease, and The Sound of Music. She was also able to experience seeing The Lion King and The Sound of Music live at the performing arts center near her home.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and sister Phillis May Swihart. She is survived by her son Michael Lee Doering of Jackson, granddaughter Rachel Ann (Marc-Denis) Marquis of Jackson, sister Willa Jean (Russell) Barden of Michigan Center, and brother Frank E. (Chloe) VanDusen of Jackson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Christen Assembly Church, 506 Harris St, Jackson, MI at 1:00pm. Pastor Edward Young will officiate.
