Julaine "Julie" GreenBattle CreekJulaine "Julie" Green, 91, of Battle Creek, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Heritage Assisted Living Community. Julie was born on November 7, 1925, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Harry L. and Lona L. (Brandenburg) Broas. She was a 1944 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Julie was employed by the Kellogg Company, in Quality Control, retiring after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club and served with the Community Hospital and Battle Creek Health System Auxiliary. In her younger years, she enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid reader. Julie was preceded by her first husband, Levi G. Willis. She married John L. Green in 1972. He preceded her on October 31, 2009. Julie is survived by her stepchildren Linda K. Oge of Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl A. (Robert) Hinds of Battle Creek and David (Gina) Green of Saline, MI. She also leaves four grandsons, one granddaughter and two great grandsons. Julie is also survived by her special niece and caregiver Mary Jo (Broas) Marick and her husband Tom, nephew Michael Broas, niece Cindi (Dennis) Wood and two additional nieces, two additional nephews and her sister-in-law Jackie (Donald) Windemuller. Julie was preceded by her parents, brothers Richard B. and Robert R. Broas and her niece Susan (Broas) Dronick. Julie enjoyed her last five at the Heritage Assisted Living Community where she made many friends. Her family would like to thank the Heritage staff for all the love and care given to Julie.A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Royal Funeral Home.
