LaVerne F. Shuman, age 75, of Hale, formerly of Redford Township, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015. LaVerne was born on July 13, 1940 in Elo to Willard and Viola Belttari. LaVerne was a retired bookkeeper for the State of Michigan, worked at Kelly girls and was a homemaker and mother. She was very supportive of her Finnish heritage and enjoyed playing bingo and watching TV. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sons, Bradley (Kathy) Shuman of Hale and David Shuman of Florida; grandchildren, Crystal (Max) Brown, Christopher Shuman and Casey Shuman; great grandchildren, Logan, Lindsey, Teegan and Abigail; and brother, Eugene Belttari and sister-in-law Patricia Belttari. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Stanley Belttari and sister-in-law, Shirley Belttari. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hale on Friday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. Burial will be on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Eden Glen Memorial in Livonia. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dean Muhle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation. Arrangements are made by the Buresh Funeral Homes Hale Chapel.
