Lucy C. Hogan (nee Toska), age 75, of East Tawas died on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Tendercare Nursing Home. Lucy was born on Feb. 16, 1934, in East Tawas, the daughter of Robert and Augusta (nee Reinke). She graduated from Tawas High School in 1952. Lucy worked as a waitress at the Lixey Restaurant and was a former manager at the Whitetail Cafe. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and traveling and she was a very "artistic person." She is survived by her husband, John V. Hogan Jr., whom she married on Dec. 8, 1968. Also surviving are her stepchildren, John and Julie of Arizona; two sisters, Mary Carr and Helen McCullough; and three step-grandchildren. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers, John and Robert Toska. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 30, 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Charlie Donajkowski officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements were made by the Buresh and Kobs Funeral Home in Tawas City.
