Margaret E. Brower, of Hale, formerly of Rochester Hills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012 at the Tendercare Nursing Home in Tawas City, age 88 years. Margaret was born on March 24, 1924 in Detroit to Oscar F. and Erma F. (Gillette) Gabbert. After high school graduation, Margaret worked for many years as an assistant manager for National Bank of Detroit in Rochester Hills. While she lived in Rochester Hills, Margaret was also an active member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church where she participated in many various church functions. Those who knew and loved her will always remember how Margaret truly enjoyed watching wildlife, and most specifically, the beautiful birds that she loved to feed. Margaret also enjoyed sewing, reading and spending time with all of her family. In her younger years while in high school, she was an avid swimmer and tennis player. Margaret moved to the Hale area a short while ago and became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hale. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends. Margaret is survived by her 2 loving daughters, Joyce (Steven) Henning and Joanne (Roger) Beebe; five grandchildren, Ted (Stephanie) Luekens, Karen (Tim) Plath, Jeremy Beebe, Tim Beebe and Tom (Melissa) Beebe; and six great grandchildren, Tyler Plath, Eric Beebe, Garrett Beebe, Matthew Plath, Ali Beebe and Morgan Beebe. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Alvin A. Brower on Sept. 2, 2011, one brother, one sister and her parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Hale. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hale with Pastor Dean Muhle officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral in Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale.
