Maria Refugio Lara, 68, of Edwardsburg passed suddenly on August 6th, 2020 in Ontwa Township. 

Maria was born February 28, 1952, to Armando and Guadalupe Lara. She was born in Bakersfield, California where she spent most of her life. She had 4 children, Juan, Jaime, Rosa, and Elizabeth Lara.  She had to drop out of school to take care of her children.  Maria enjoyed spending time with her children & grandchildren. Maria loved her family and held them very close to her heart. Maria is survived by a son, Jaime Lara, a daughter, Rosa Lara, another daughter, Elizabeth Lara, and a son, Juan Lara, her grandchidren Gabriela Lara, Jaime Lara JR, Alex Lara, Brenda Lara, Vanessa Patino, and Rick Patino. Maria is also survived by her many family members in Bakersfield, California. She was preceded in death by her father, Armando Lara, her mother, Guadalupe Lara. Her brother, Antonio Lara, and her sister Adrianna Lara. the family will welcome friends from 10 am till 12 pm on Saturday, August 8th at Paul Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg, where a service to honor her memory will commence at noon. Burial will folllow in Adamsville Cemetary, Edwardsburg.
