Marvin K. ChamberlainMarshallMarvin K. Chamberlain, 81 of Marshall died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home.Marvin was born on December 2, 1935 in Homer to Kenneth and Bernice (King) Chamberlain. He graduated from Homer High School in 1954. He served in the United States Air Force. On August 20, 1960, he married Beverly J. Bennett in Marshall at the Marshall United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death in 1998.Marvin began his career as a butcher at Donny Moore's in Homer. In 1963 he started working at Felpausch Food Center in Marshall and would retire as the company Chief Operation Officer in 1997 following 35 years of service. Marvin truly enjoyed working in the grocery business. He valued his time at Felpausch he was proud of the great team of people he worked with all of those yearsHe is survived by his children, David Chamberlain of Marshall and Deborah (Raymond) Boley of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Cherri Neal, Traci Boley, and Jennifer (David) Getman; his cat Stewy; siblings Virginia Bientz of Homer, Marge Maximchuck of Jackson, and Lawrence Chamberlain of Homer; and special friend Judy Jolin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Joyce Wallace, Dorothy Hart, and Robert Chamberlain. Visitation will take place at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel 723 US 27 North on Sunday April 9, 2017 from 1-7pm with family present to greet friends from 1-3pm and 5-7pm. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11am on Monday April 10, 2017 with Mr. Craig K. Kempf officiating at the Kempf Funeral Home Marshall Chapel. Family will gather with friends following the services in the Kempf Funeral Home Reception Hall. Interment will follow the gathering at Oakridge Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions to the Saint Jude Children's Hospital or to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
