Mary "Kathleen" Aller, age 72, of East Tawas, and formerly of Grosse Ile, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 17, 2016. She was born on June 20, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Arthur and Marion Bowie (nee Grey). Kathleen Bowie married Gary Aller on Dec. 29, 1959 in Puyallup, Wash. They have lived in the Tawas area since 1984. She was a well known antique dealer and she worked at Uncle Winnie's and Alabaster Corners for several years. Kathleen decorated Christmas trees at the museum as well as the Victorian Christmas Tree featured in the local Christmas Walk. She was the life of the party and she enjoyed music and dancing. Kathleen, who was also referred to as the "Victorian Lady," had a huge place in her heart for animals. She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Gary Aller; and four of their children, Kim (Greg) Stanley of Wyoming, Mich., Peggy (Jeff) Johnson of Adrian, Kathleen (Bryan) Richmond of East Tawas and Joe (Chrissy) Aller of AuGres. Kathleen is also survived by her sister, Joann Norris of Puyallup, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her daughter, Kellie Owen; infant boys, Christopher and Gary Aller; grandson, Matthew; and her son-in-law, Kevin Owen. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
