MaryAnn Hodgins, age 80, of Hale passed away at her home with her family at her side on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016. She was born on Feb. 24, 1936 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Joseph and Mary (Donnelly) Sheldon. She married Robert Richards, who preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Edward Hodgins in 1976 and he preceded her in death in 1983. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale and was a member of the Hale VFW Post Auxiliary 7435 serving as president from 1983-1984. She was well known for her many sewing projects, her generosity and being a very independent woman. She will be missed by all.MaryAnn is survived by her children, Wendy (Tom) Waelchli of St. Clair Shores, Robert Richards of Zeeland, Mark (Sheila) Richards of San Antonio, Texas and Edward (Debbie) Hodgins of Hale; grandchildren, Matt (Heather) Richards, J.T. (Janessa) Waelchli, Alison Richards, Natalie Waelchli, Courtney (Jeff) Leaverton, Derek Richards, Erica Waelchli, Kyle Hodgins and Amber Hodgins; and great grandchildren, Brianna, Annabelle, Cameron, Riggins and Rachel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands; brothers, Edward and Joseph Sheldon, and a sister, Charlotte Dengel.Visitation will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale with Fr.
