Mildred A. Bero, age 91 of Whittemore passed away at Iosco County Medical Care Facility peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Monday, March 28, 2016. She was born on Feb. 10, 1925 in Chicago Heights, Ill. to Martin and Ethel Krulatz and grew up in Marinette, Wis. Mildred worked at Standish Products where she served as a union representative. Mildred loved painting, gardening and her cats. She was the Burleigh Township assessor, Whittemore Speedway volunteer, Boy Scout leader, and was active in St. James Catholic Church and the local high school band boosters. Mildred is survived by her children, Harlan Bero of Whittemore, Donald Bero of Clio, Carl and wife Beth Bero of Madison, Ala. and Robert "Bob" Bero of Melrose, Fla.; grandchildren, Jenny Steelman, Brian Bero, Laurie Nelson, Carolyn Bero, Christopher Bero and Katie Bero; great grandchildren, Sam and Ally Bero; and siblings, Peter Krulatz, Mary Sutter and Margaret Esser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bero; children, Linda (Bero) Joye and Arnold Bero; and siblings, John Krulatz, Joseph Krulatz, Theresa Hosack, Matilda McElhatten and Veronica Chaney.Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hale Chapel of Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington St., Hale. Mildred's funeral mass will be Thursday, March 31 at St. James Catholic Church, Whittemore at 11 a.m., she will be instate at 10 a.m. Fr.
