Minnie Amelia Jordan of Sherman Township passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at the Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City, age 94 years. Minnie was born on Feb. 7, 1917 in Iosco County to George and Ida (nee Cox) Kohn. She remained at home during her working years to willingly raise her children and participate in operating the family farm. Minnie will always be remembered for her love of horseback riding, hunting, playing cards, gardening and working in her beautiful flower beds. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tawas City for many years. Minnie married her husband, Clarence Jordan in West Branch in 1937. He has preceded her in death along with a son, Francis Jordan in 2008; sister, Helen Eckstein; brother, George Kohn; brother, Howard Kohn; and sister, Arlene Daniels. Minnie is survived by her children, Eugene Jordan of National City, Robert Jordan of National City, Clarence (Susan) Jordan of Whittemore, Pat (Ruthie) Jordan of National City and Ann (Patrick) Woelke of Wilber; 20 grandchildren, Matthew (Kelly) Jordan, Mark (Janet) Jordan, Marty (Elly) Jordan, Micah (Miechon) Jordan, Jason (Tricia) Woelke, Sarah Woelke, Ryan Woelke, Eric Jordan, Amy (Rueben) Edwards, Joshua Jordan (fiancée Lacy Warnes), Shawn Jordan, Veronica Jordan, Francis (Samantha) Jordan, Jr., Naomi Anselment, Rachael Jordan, Tammy (Rob) Bennet, Tim Helms, Jason (Crystal) Helms, Hannah (Brian) Roberts and Charlie (Janie) Buchner; many great grandchildren; one sister, Alma Kozad of Texas; three brothers, Allen (Janet) Kohn of Alma, Herb (Regina) Kohn of Georgia and Leighton (Donna) Kohn of Flint; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tawas City with Pastor Johnathan Schnose officiating. Her family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Visitation will also be on Friday at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Saint James Cemetery in Whittemore.
