Neva N. (nee Stevens) Harden, 85, passed away peacefully, Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at Good Samaritan Village in Socorro, N.M. She was born on June 27, 1926 to Fred and Annette (nee Walker) Stevens in Oscoda.Neva was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her son, Eric Harden. Neva is survived by her devoted son, Paul Harden and wife Jan of Socorro, N.M.; her loving daughter, Janelle Harden of Albuquerque, N.M.; her sister, Maxine Parmelee of Bellaire; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two nephews.Neva earned her bachelor's degree in English and literature from Michigan State University and her master's degree from Denver University. She taught English, English as a second language, and served as a foreign student advisor at Denver University, Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo, Colo. and Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo. Later in life, she formed a publishing company, Horizon Communications, and was a professional grant writer while living in Albuquerque. She loved reading, writing and music and played the piano and organ. She became a resident at Good Samaritan Village in Socorro in 2009 to be close to family.
