Olen L. English, age 79, of Angola, Indiana, formerly of Gilead Township, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at his home.Olen was born on February 12, 1938 in Bronson, Michigan, the son of Amos and Ethel (Harbaugh) English.He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1956. He grew up on a farm in Gilead Township, and helped with the farming, and milking cows, and developed a love for horses. After his youth, he lived many years in Gilead Township and raised horses, and enjoyed going to rodeo's and trail riding at Pokagon State Park. He was also a big Indianapolis Colts football fan, and enjoyed WWE wrestling. He moved to Angola in his later years and was the owner of the Artesian Stables. He was a member of the Branch County Sheriff's Department Horse riding team, known as the "Posse". He retired in 2006 as a group leader at Profile Extrusion, Coldwater, Michigan, after 40 years of service. Survivors include his children, Richard Lamar (Georgia) English of Goodyear, Arizona, Diana Peterson of Angola, Indiana, and Kevin (Detta) English of Ravana, Ohio, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sisters, Shirley (Allan) Alleshouse, and Marlene Ort, both of Fremont, Indiana, and brothers, Rolland (Karen) English of Fremont, Indiana, Irving English of Coldwater, Michigan, and his former wife, Patricia Ann English of Coldwater, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sandy (Wilson) English, and an infant son, Wesley Wayne English.Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Beams Funeral Home, with Harry Squires officiating.
