Jones, 95, of Battle Creek died on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Lakeview Senior Living.Patricia was born on October 15, 1921, in Cavour, South Dakota, to Patrick and Dena (Gasper) O'Keefe. She graduated from Cavour High School in 1940; and attended Huron College until the start of World War II, when she went to work for the War Department in Washington, DC. She married Robert M. Jones on December 9, 1943, in San Francisco, California. Robert was a J.C. Penney manager, and he and Patricia lived in several states during their marriage, including: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan. Her husband preceded her in death in 1979.Patricia was a full-time homemaker. She was a master seamstress, and she sewed almost all of the clothes worn by herself and her three daughters. She enjoyed baking, gardening, traveling, playing bridge and golf. Patricia was a talented athlete her entire life. She played on a women's basketball team in college, pitched for a boys' baseball team in high school, and was an avid golfer, playing into her 90's. Patricia was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Riverside Country Club, and volunteered with the Leila Hospital Auxiliary.Patricia is survived by her three daughters: Diane M. (Allen) Rohrstaff of Kalamazoo, Carol Ann (the late Ronald) Bolenz of Battle Creek, and Lynn K. (Eugene) Means of Naples, Florida; seven grandchildren: Laura Geesin of Grand Rapids, Jeffry (Tammy) Rohrstaff of Vicksburg, Donna (Jonathan) Lindley of Rochester Hills, Michael (Kate) Rohrstaff of Portage, Bryan (Heidi) Nuorala of Scottsdale, Arizona, Robert (Jodie) Nuorala of Fort Myers, Florida, and James (Kara) Rohrstaff of Auckland, New Zealand; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack O'Keefe, of Santa Maria, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, son-in-law, Ronald Bolenz, granddaughter, Sarah Nuorala, three brothers and a sister.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Kempf Family Funeral Home, Battle Creek Chapel, with the Reverend Father Jose Haro officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Private interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
