Phyllis Marie HarrisonBellevuePhyllis Marie Harrison, age 85, of Bellevue passed away peacefully Friday, June 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 23, 1931 in Barry County, MI the daughter of Clyde and Helen (Stanton) Cheeseman. Phyllis was a high school graduate from Hastings High School, class of 1950. While dancing at a local dance hall she met Sheldon Harrison, and they were married on July 14, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Bellevue. Phyllis was a stay at home wife until her children graduated high school; she then went to work for Interbake Foods and later retired from Koyo. She was very family oriented and family always came first. Family reunions were always held at Phyllis and Sheldon's home. They even constructed a softball diamond where they would play at family functions. Holidays she always prepared all the food, never asking for help. Every Tuesday Phyllis played Bingo, she absolutely loved it! She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, watching "Days of Our Lives" and reading. Many years Phyllis and Sheldon would vacation in Las Vegas, where they would watch shows and site-see. One year, while attending a raffle, Phyllis won a hot air balloon ride. They purchased another ticket for Sheldon so he could ride along. In her younger, years she deer hunted and even hung out at deer camp. There wasn't anyone Phyllis didn't like. Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life of 67 years, Sheldon; children, Charles (Sally) Harrison of Dimondale, MI, Andrew (Brenda) Harrison of Bellevue, Thomas Harrison of Bellevue, Daniel (Cheryl Ulrich) Harrison of Jackson; grandchildren, Erin (Wes) Peart, Jessi (Bret) Flower, Marjorie (Sam) Dany, Patrick (Ali) Harrison, Jacki (Nick) Guajardo; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; brother, John (Linda) Cheeseman; sister-in-law's, Joyce Harrison, Ann Harrison; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, George Cheeseman; sister-in-law, Ilah Cheeseman; and great-grandson, Ford Andrew Flower. Family will receive friends at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Home, Bellevue Chapel on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00am with Pastor Paul Wall officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue.
