This obituary is administered by:

Raymond W.
White Sr. was born to the union of Booker T. White & Katie Davis White on
February 4, 1927 in Youngstown, OH.

Raymond joined the US Airforce in his teens and served a tour in WWII in Germany. Raymond loved the Airforce. He was an enormously proud soldier and achieved the rank of Master Sgt. He was an astute administrator in the Air Force. He later went on to receive his GED from Cass Technical High School in Detroit, MI. He also studied Interest Based Bargaining at the local comunity college and fiercely represented his union brothers and sisters.

Before the war, he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Wilma L. Listenbee (Deceased) on October 6, 1945. To this union 7 children were born: Cynthia, Kathryn, Raymond Jr, Cheryl (Deceased), Darrell, Fred & Kimberly (Deceased). They celebrated 63 years of marriage until death separated them. His key to lifelong marriage was simple: “One person act a fool at a time!” He said there was NOTHING too good for HIS wife.

He and his wife planned for a big family. He kept odd jobs along with his active and reserve duties in the military and retiredfrom Bundy Tubing
(Now TI Automotive). Possessing a strong work ethic, even after retirement he continued towork in his own business, White’s Janitorial Services and Supplies.

Loved by most everyone, he was generous, smart, kind and fun loving. Raymond was a great conversationalist! He was an avid reader and kept abreast of current events in all generations. He loved to spend time with his family and go to church.

Raymond served faithfully, in the Church of the Living God as a Deacon. He later moved his membership and served as a Comptroller at Light of the World Christian Church Inc. and for 25 plus years he served in almost every Department in the Church. He was the Church\'s one and only Comptroller and was affectionately known as Dad White. After some consideration, he decided to move with his daughter and granddaughter to Jackson, MS where he was well received at Faith4Life Church as an honorary member of the Deacon & Usher Board due to his failing health. His moniker followed him there and he was still known as Dad White. He later returned to MI with his daughter and granddaughter to his new home in
Bloomfield, MI.

He acquired 5 additional sons in Jackson, Andre Cameron, Pastor Sanford McQueen, Pastor Derrick Greene Min. Stephen Bell and Derrick Mercadel. They treated him as if he really was their Dad too. Having long talks, meals, long visits and rides to church EVERY week. They were his extended family and he loved them.

Raymond achieved a 33rd Degree Level in the Masons where he exercised his administrative skills and traveled extensively for them. Raymond loved his family. He loved to serve people and could often be found during his lifetime doing whatever his hands found, often in secret. He loved to travel.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Wilma, his daughters Cheryl & Kimberly, his siblings: Booker T. Jr, Irving, Robert, Frank, Francis, Lillie Mae & Vernon.

Surviving Raymond and missing his fun-loving spirit are his children: Cynthia of Shelton, CT, Kaye of Southfield, MI, Ray Jr. (Pat) of Mount Clemens, MI, Darrell (Anita) of Brooklyn, MI and Fred of Dallas, TX, Sisters Thelma Jordan, Katherine White & JoAnn, 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends and family at the United Memorial Funeral Home in Mount Clemens. A private burial will held at a later time.
