Richard Root, beloved son of Keith Root and Elizabeth Schermerhorn, passed away on October 3, 2024, in Livonia, Michigan, United States. He was born on April 13, 1976.

Richard is survived by his two children, Damien Root and Caisha Root. He is also survived by his sisters Laurie Gialone, Angie Contrastato, and Heidi Dunn. He will be welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife Rebecca Sampson, his younger sister Lindsey Mercer, Grandmother Patricia Sampson, and Grandfather Ronald Sampson.

He was a dedicated father who loved spending time with his kids and instilling in them his love for cooking, music, and sports.

Richard had a passion for life and always knew how to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. His sense of humor and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Although Richard's life was tragically cut short, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Richard, may you find eternal happiness in the great kitchen of the afterlife.
